The Holidays Are Joyful — But They Can Also Be Hard
The holiday season is often filled with joy and connection. But for many people, it also brings moments of loneliness, sadness, and the weight of grief.
At Compassionate Ottawa, we recognize that emotional challenges do not follow the calendar. They don’t disappear during the festive season. Someone may be facing their first holiday without someone they love. Another may be adjusting to new surroundings or feeling isolated. Others may simply find this time of year emotionally overwhelming.
Our work is about strengthening communities by helping people learn how to support one another. Through our free workshops, we create compassionate spaces where people can talk openly about grief, loss, and change — and learn practical ways to accompany others through difficult moments.
This holiday season, we invite you to support this work.
Your gift ensures that community members across Ottawa gain the skills and confidence to support others during times of loneliness, sadness, and grief — during the holidays and throughout the year.
