In 2022, we moved into a new phase of community recovery, following numerous events that had a dramatic effect on our city. Our community had been fragmented, and many residents had felt isolated and anxious. A new time was upon us as we reflected on the losses we had lived through and the new hope we sought for a refreshed and restored city. Reconnecting with family, friends, and community energized our desire for social connection. We sought to replace fear with empathy and compassion. We recognized that the time had come to bring Ottawa residents together to:
- Remember and honour those we had lost.
- Thank those who helped us get through a hard time.
- Reflect on what we had learned during the pandemic.
- Imagine a hopeful future.
Residents across Ottawa were invited to plan events, both small and large, for their communities. Events took place between Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 26, 2022. Organizers added their events to the www.togetherottawaensemble.ca website to invite the broader city or their local community.
