On Thursday, November 13, we welcomed our community to another engaging session of Conversations with Leaders, a series that brings together experts, caregivers, and compassionate citizens for meaningful discussions about care, connection, and navigating life’s challenges. This month’s conversation offered powerful insights into what it truly means to support one another through serious illness

This event featured a conversation with Dr. Hsien Seow and Dr. Samantha Winemaker, co-hosts of the Waiting Room Revolution podcast and authors of the book “Hope for the Best, Plan for the Rest.” In discussion with Monica Patten, Compassionate Ottawa volunteer, we heard Dr. Seow and Dr. Winemaker’s real-life stories, their seven keys for navigating a serious illness, how patients and their caregivers can be hopeful and prepared at every step of their journey, and how much it matters that we all work together.

It was an insightful and encouraging discussion for everyone who joined us. If you weren’t able to attend, or if you’d like to revisit the conversation, you can watch the full event here. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and we look forward to sharing more meaningful conversations ahead.
